JIU JITSU – KARATE – MMA
Our programs are famous for their balanced approach to teaching the martial arts to every student. Using success-based teaching techniques, our commitment to parent and student is to bring out every student’s best. Classes steer away from “one-size-fits-all” approach. Instead, our focus is on mobility, fitness, fighting and having fun. Our demand is simply “always do your best”. Kids learn to defend themselves, speak up and stay focused in a positive and healthy environment.
LITTLE NINJAS (4.5 to 7 yrs)
Little Ninjas classes, Jiu Jitsu or Karate, are age and developmentally appropriate. New students train with other new students, learning the FUNdamentals. Students graduate from the beginner program into an intermediate class where their skills are further developed. This keeps them challenged and engaged as they grow.
Karate kids develop coordination and balance by doing increasingly difficult exercises. They learn anti-bullying skills and fighting strategy then apply them in live sparring sessions with other students. Black belt instructors ensure that the sparring is safe and fun while allowing the students to explore their limitations.
Jiu Jitsu kids follow a similar regimen as the karate kids, however the sparring they do is very different. There is no striking in Jiu Jitsu. The goal for the kids is to control their opponent with superior positioning. By gaining a better position, a smaller student can defend themselves against a larger one, a valuable and practical lesson. Instructors carefully monitor the kids as they spar, assisting when they are stuck and coaching them to success.
NINJA KIDS MARTIAL ARTS (8 to 13 yrs)
The goal of our Jiu Jitsu, Karate and Mixed Martial Arts programs is simple: help students to build confidence that will last a lifetime. Self defense techniques teach kids how to stand up for themselves and others in any situation. Sparring, or controlled fighting, teaches them how to fight, taking the fear out of hostile physical situations. This allows students to stay “cool” under pressure, knowing if they have to fight, they can, but choosing not to when the situation permits. Education gives them the power to choose; simply put, kids who know how to fight, don’t.
Classes are fitness oriented, which includes lessons on nutrition and lifestyle as well as challenging workouts. Physical conditioning is coupled with character building activities; teamwork drills, student involvement during instruction, discussions on when it’s ok to use their martial arts training to defend themselves and “life-training” i.e. the qualities that make a good person on and off the mats: honesty, integrity, gratitude, self discipline and more. Our role-model instructors provide entertaining and engaging classes that ensure that everyone is having fun.
Students in this class are expected to work hard, follow instruction and challenge themselves beyond their own limits. We encourage all of our students to aim high!
KIDS JIU JITSU COMPETITION CLASS
Any level Jiu Jitsu student can join our growing competition team. As we expand our school, we are adding more and more competition-style training sessions. Building on techniques they learn in the fundamentals classes, students drill more complicated sequences, do positional study, learn about fight strategy and participate in challenging sparring and wrestling rounds. Students can participate in tournaments locally and throughout the country.
Competing in Jiu Jitsu tournaments isn’t for every student. We believe, however, that students should try to compete in at least ONE tournament. A lot can be learned by “going out there and getting after it”. Winning or losing doesn’t matter; what matters is the work, dedication to training and focusing on a goal.
